Charles Davies developed a passion for furniture making at a young age via his father, an avid hobbyist.  Charles  would go on to earn a BA in Fine Arts from Guelph University, complete the cabinet making program at Humber College (where later he would return to teach), and gain excellent practical experience at a top custom house in Toronto. 

About 5 years ago, Charles started his own cabinet shop in Meaford, Ontario where he  makes fine one-off pieces, in all styles, and in only the best quality materials.  To control quality further, Davies keeps everything in-house from his making of custom mouldings, turnings and carvings to elaborate veneer and inlay work.   The finishing is also kept in-house, applied by hand, and free from lacquers. 

The philosophy of the company, Charles Davies Custom Fine Furniture and Built-Ins, adheres to Biophillic Design principles, at the core of which is a profound respect for nature and recognition that bringing the outdoors in and building with better quality materials that are eco-friendly is directly linked to human health, performance and  well-being.
